Value is the reason to venture west of Ashburn, Sterling or Chantilly for a home, right?

Most families who move further out will tell you the home values are better because the land costs are less.  And that’s certainly true.  But a lot more goes into making the home a better value than simply a lower price.

Because there is more land,  like at our Waterford Creek community in Western Loudoun County where each home sits on a 3-acre site, you don’t just overlook other homes, as in so many closer-in suburbs.  Because the home sites are larger we’re able to build in a private three-car side entry garage instead of front entry garage.  Smaller, closer in lots can’t take a side-entry garage, let alone a 3-car side entry garage.  And of course on a larger home site there’s plenty of room for plenty of personalization.  You can add a sunlit-morning room off the rear kitchen, or a bright,  side conservatory, an extended family room,  or just about whatever else your imagination conjures up.  So, while the price is obviously better the farther out you go,  to some homebuyers traveling the extra few miles is about compromising.  The way our homeowners see it,  its more about customizing the way you want to live.
